Start the school year with us

The streets around campus are already starting to get busier. Quad day is in just over 3 weeks, and I am asking you to join me in covering the ministry of CCF in prayer to start the school year off right. Starting at 8am on Saturday, August 16th, I will be at our new facilities - "The 303" - until 8am the following morning. It has been encouraging to see some of you have signed up from the last email or through our Facebook page to join me, and I hope many more of you will be lifting CCF up in Prayer on this day and continually this year. Here are a few ways to pray:

• Pray for the Holy Spirit to move on this campus
• Pray for students who will join us to see Jesus through our efforts
• Pray for boldness for our students to live for Jesus
• Pray for wisdom to love like Jesus while proclaiming His righteousness
• Pray for our students to bear witness to His Lordship and live as disciple-makers
• Pray that we would be used by God for His purposes
• Pray for Andy as He works to lead and disciple students
• Pray for our student leadership team
• Pray for financial growth to match student growth

Called

There are many stories in the Bible of God calling someone to Him and doing great things. God called Abraham, and because of his obedience to that calling, God's people were born. God called Moses, and because of his obedience, God's people were freed and reminded of His power and love for them. God called prophets and judges, Jesus called disciples, and God is calling you. This is the important part that we sometimes forget. Jesus told His disciples:

"19 Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matt 28:19-20)

We have the unique opportunity and honor to fulfill this commission on the campus of the University of Illinois. Our new CCF space, "The 303", sits in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Green Street, where thousands of students walk past, live within blocks, and live their college lives. God is calling CCF to minister to these young men and women and to proclaim Jesus as Lord and Savior. I am asking you to help us do that.

1. We need your prayers for sure.
2. We need your help to connect with students from your church when they arrive.
3. We also need your help financially.

God has called CCF to a mission, and God will be faithful. I am asking you to partner with us in these three ways. God is calling you. What is your response?
