There was something special about our final Wednesday Night Bible Study of the school year.
Our student president, Simon, who has been a steady and encouraging leader in our group, is graduating this year and asked if he could lead our final study. I was so encouraged by his desire not only to guide the discussion, but to invest in the younger students.
This semester, we studied Philippians and Colossians, and we closed with Colossians 4:7–18, focusing on friendship. It was such a fitting way to end the year. We had some amazing discussions and grew not only closer to Jesus, but to one another over the course of the year. Many of you have experienced how meaningful these relationships can be—and how they often last far beyond college.
In the conclusion of his letter to the Colossian church, Paul shares this encouragement: “Pay attention to the ministry you have received in the Lord, so that you can accomplish it.”
It’s a reminder for all of us. Our students are each called to serve Christ during their time on campus, and that calling continues long after graduation. The same is true for each of us—and for you, as you partner in the ministry happening here through CCF at UIUC.
Thank you for the many ways you pray for, encourage, and support this ministry. Your partnership makes it possible for students to encounter Christ during such a formative season of their lives.
