There's a song from the 90s by Audio Adrenaline called "God Shaped Hole" that has echoed through my mind as I've walked campus the past week.

There are approximately 60,000 students on campus. How many of them know Jesus? How many of them are actively rejecting Jesus? How many are simply living life for themselves and in the moment with no regard for any purpose other than good times and passing grades?

We are working to equip students to know and pursue Jesus. We are gathering students together to teach the Bible and build fellowship. We are praying that these young men and women will bear witness to the Lordship of Jesus with not only their words, but with their lives. We pray that they will live as disciples who make disciples.

This year, as in the years that have passed, students will feel that emptiness, and they will try to fill it. The only thing that can heal that hole, or void, they feel is the hand of God. Substitutes won't work. But how can they know and believe what Jesus has done for them if they don't hear about Him from us? We are called to preach that good news on this campus to these students. We are called to show them how Jesus loves them and is calling them to Himself.

How, then, can they call on him they have not believed in? And how can they believe without hearing about him? And how can they hear without a preacher?
