Drops in Our Buckets
Auto Clinic

One of the most exciting things for our families is the purchase of a car! It allows them more flexibility, easier time management, and expands their opportunities around the city.

As wonderful as it is, a lot of budgeting and sacrifice is required for the upkeep and repair of a car.

That's why we were elated this month when Grace Church and Christian Automotive teamed up to offer free oil changes and minor repairs to our families!

The event they planned elevated routine car repairs to a actual fun, too! Everyone enjoyed delicious food from Firehouse Subs while the kids jumped in a bounce house, snacked on freshly popped popcorn, and even got some gifts to take home.

The giving continued after the event when Christian Brothers Automotive completed more than $1,200 worth of more extensive repairs for a family for free during their regular work day!

A huge thank you to Grace Church for purchasing supplies for the event and to Christian Automotive Brothers for donating their time.
Giving Back

It is always a treat to catch up with one of our alumni and hear about the successes they've had. But we got an extra special visit from one of our former moms this month that was all about giving back.

One of our alumni surprised us by donating TONS of nonperishable food and snacks to our families- over $850 worth!

Why? She told us that one of her favorite things about Saranam was coming to class to find little surprises for her and the other families. It gave her a boost to know that other people were thinking of her and wanting to make life easier. So when she had a little extra set aside, she decided to be that person for others.

On top of her incredibly thoughtful gift, she left pastries and orange juice as an extra special breakfast surprise for families coming to class that morning.

Her gift changed the day for us all and we know that it will be the catalyst for many more acts of kindness.
Lighting a Spark
Mad Scientists

What could possibly make Halloween more exciting for kids? How about some fun hands-on science!

This month a team of volunteers from Sandia National Labs hosted a special ghoulish night with families. Families learned a whole new way to celebrate, with chemical reactions, STEM projects, and even created a few mad scientists!

We're so grateful to Sandia Labs for making learning so exciting and accessible for kids. What a way to inspire some future scientists!
Light a Spark

There are SO many things to remember during the holidays, but one thing you should make sure is on your calendar is Giving Tuesday!

It is not just another day to keep track of in the hubbub after Thanksgiving. It is a global day of giving, and a chance to see just how a single act of kindness can spark huge change!

That's why we will be sharing stories of how YOUR kindness has lit a spark for our families during the week leading up to Giving Tuesday on our social media channels.

Put a special star on Tuesday, November 30 in your calendar! We can't wait to hear how it inspires you!
Thank you!
Do you still get a little excited when you see that brown truck coming down the street, hoping it will stop by your door?

Well we have even more reason to give a little cheer when we see it now because UPS recently donated $20,000 of perishable foods and special meals to our families!

Thank you so much, UPS, for delivering these delicious, healthy foods to growing families!
