A Busy April in the Shipyard!

The evening of April 7 was a wonderful gathering of supporters

of Schooner Ernestina-Morrissey and of new friends just learning about this amazing Official Vessel of the Commonwealth. Thank you to the New Bedford Whaling Museum for including the ship's story in their Sailors' Series. First Chet Brigham gave a synoposis of his new book Phoenix of the Seas: Ernestina-Morrissey State Ship of Massachusetts. Then Harold Burnham and David Short described the progress on the rehabilitation of Ernestina-Morrissey at Boothbay Harbor Shipyard. Commission member Gene Monteiro served as Master of Ceremonies.

It's been a busy April in the shipyard and you can read about a new technique to cut futtocks and the new stern taking shape on the website.

Schooner Ernestina Commission Meeting
