The winner of the 2021 DFI Outstanding Project Award (OPA) is the team of Stantec (engineer), Ames Construction (general contractor), Case-Bencor JV (Keller; foundation contractor), Missouri River Energy Services (owner), Rembco Geotechnical Contractors (grouting contractor), and Schnabel Geostructural Design & Construction (anchor contractor) for the Red Rock Hydroelectric project on the Des Moines River in Iowa into a hydroelectric facility. The award is being presented at the DFI 46th Annual Conference on Deep Foundations, Oct. 12-15, in Las Vegas.

DFI is excited to announce its new podcast channel – Broadcasting Common Ground. In the first series, Interview with a Survivor, hosts Lucky Nagarajan and Tim Siegel will speak with industry experts about their near misses, problem projects and resolutions. The first episode, airing on August 11, is titled, Getting Sued: An Engineer’s Tale, features an interview with William M. (Billy) Camp III, P.E., D.GE, technical principal and vice president at SM&E.
