Suzanne Tate Signing & Reading

Living Legend Suzanne Tate has been writing for 24 years and her popular children's Nature Series has contributed to book sales of over three million. Suzanne will signing titles from her children's History and Nature Series ($4.95) as well as copies of her much in demand oral history collections- Bring Me Duck, Memories of Manteo and Logs & Moonshine (Buffalo City) ($5.95).
Suzanne's Nature Series started with Crabby & Nabby: A Tale of Two Crabs and has continued, accurately covering a wide range of species found both on the Outer Banks and elsewhere- horseshoe crabs, flamingoes, starfish, oysters and more all star in her delightful books, whimsically illustrated by local artist James Melvin.

In anticipation of what would be Virginia Dare's 425th birthday on August 18, writer Marjorie Hudson will be at Downtown Books on Thursday, August 16,from 11am to 1pm signing her book Searching for Virginia Dare ($16.00). In the book, Hudson weaves research, memory and imagination into a highly readable account of her investigation into both legends and facts in an attempt to finally discover the fate of the Lost Colony. Ms Hudson is also the author of a short story collection, Accidental Birds of the Carolinas ($17.95).
