A booster shot is administered when a person has completed their vaccine series and protection against the virus has decreased over time. Additional doses are administered to people with moderately to severely compromised immune systems. Click to learn more.
An FDA Advisory Committee voted unanimously to support the emergency use of a booster dose of Moderna’s COVID-19 Vaccine in the U.S. The FDA will take the recommendation into consideration in making a final decision on authorization. Stay tuned for more details.
On Oct. 15, the FDA's Advisory Committee is meeting to consider the emergency use authorization of Johnson and Johnson’s COVID-19 Vaccine for use as a booster dose, in individuals 18 years of age and older.
