COVID-19 Vaccine Update

The State of New Hampshire has developed a three-phase rollout for the COVID-19 vaccine. Here are the latest updates:

Here at Monadnock Community Hospital, we are committed to keeping you informed of COVID vaccine news -and helping you be vaccinated as soon as possible.

Those currently eligible to receive the vaccine are required to meet the criteria below:

1) Those 65 years and older

2) Those under 65 and have 2 or more underlying medical conditions listed below (adapted from CDC)
  • Cancer
  • Chronic Kidney Disease
  • COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) and other high-risk pulmonary disease
  • Down Syndrome
  • Heart Conditions, such as heart failure or coronary artery disease
  • Immunocompromised states
  • Obesity (body mass index of 30 kg/m or higher)
  • Pregnancy
  • Sickle cell disease
  • Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Q. If I'm between 16-64 and qualify for the vaccine, now what?
A. If you're a patient of MCH, continue to monitor your email inbox! We've already notified the State of New Hampshire of all of our patients who qualify to receive a vaccine. The State is currently contacting those people by email to let them know they can log into the State's website to register! If you ARE NOT patient of MCH you may also be vaccinated at the State-run vaccination sites, with confirmation by your physician that you have 2 or more high-risk health conditions. NOTE: The CDC's Vaccine Administration System (VAMS) will send you an email will from: no-reply@mail.vams.cdc.gov. Note: Don't forget to check your junk mailbox. Some people report finding this email notification went there.

Q. I found available dates at one of the Clinics, but it's not very near my home. Should I wait to see if more dates are added to a location closer to my home?
A. No. We strongly advise you to keep the earliest appointment you're able to schedule and plan to travel to that location. As more eligible groups of NH residents are allowed to register, wait times for available appointments are expected to grow. You can receive your vaccine at any of the 13 State-run locations listed below.

Q. Can my clinician help move me up the State's waiting list to an earlier appointment date?
A. No, unfortunately, we can not. Appointments are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Q. What about my friends and neighbors who may not have internet access?
A. Those without internet access should call the State's 2-1-1 line. Callers have reported the wait can be long, but help is available once you get through. To help get that message out, we've sent a postcard to every residence throughout our primary service area and began running ads in the Ledger Transcript this week with that information.

Q. What if I'm still unsure if I qualify?
A. Visit the State's registration website and click on "Do I Qualify?" to learn more. We're also notifying our qualifying patients ages 16-64 of their eligibility by postal mail.

Q. Can I bring my spouse or a family member to my vaccine appointment?
A. Yes, you can come with your spouse or family member, however they may only receive the vaccine if they have an appointment. When registering online, there is an option to indicate that you will be arriving at your appointment with another Phase 1B eligible member who would like to be vaccinated. That person will verify and complete registration paperwork onsite. During the online registration process, it is so important that this box is checked because this will help to ensure the appropriate amount of vaccine doses is available for that day at the vaccination site.

Q. I am not a NH resident but I own property in NH, am I eligible to receive the vaccine in New Hampshire?
A. No, you are not currently eligible to receive the vaccine in New Hampshire. Individuals will need to bring at least one of the documents below when they arrive to get their vaccine:
  • Valid, unexpired NH Driver license or Non-Driver ID card.
  • A payroll check, payroll document, or employment contract showing individual’s legal New Hampshire address, dated within the last 60 days.
  • A government issued payment (ie. social security), showing individual’s legal New Hampshire address, dated within the last 60 days.

Q. When will I be able to register for my second dose?
A. After receiving your first vaccination dose, you will receive an automated email from no-reply@mail.vams.cdc.gov to schedule your second dose.

The 13 State-run Vaccination Clinics are the responsibility of Public Health here in NH. We encourage people to sign up for the earliest available appointment at any of the State-run clinic locations, below;

Please note: All vaccinations at State-run Clinics require prior registration. No walk-in vaccinations are allowed. No exceptions.

Residents Without Internet Access

We encourage you to reach out to family friends and neighbors who may not have access to the internet. We urge them to call 2-1-1 to access further support for their vaccination.
