Dear Friends,

The election is under 2 weeks away, have you voted yet? According to new research from the Cultural Research Center at Arizona Christian University, led by Dr. George Barna, millions of Christians are unlikely to vote.

The research center states that Barna’s latest research shows that only 51% of all faith voters are likely to vote in November. That means a full 104 million faith voters are unlikely to vote this election—including 41 million born-again Christians, 32 million regular Christian church attenders, and 14 million who attend an evangelical church.

This is heartbreaking, and quite frankly, unacceptable. While so many Christians sit back and pray for the Lord to move in our country, we then fail to take the opportunity God gives us to see him move in our country; it’s like praying for rain but not having the faith to bring your umbrella.

At NMFAM, we are actively working to honor God by exercising our responsibility as the people of God to “stand firm and take action” (Daniel 11:32) As we approach the upcoming election, we must remember our duty as individuals of faith to engage in the democratic process. Voting is not just a civic duty; it is a biblical responsibility that aligns with our commitment to justice, stewardship, and community.

 Honoring Our Stewardship

The Bible calls us to be good stewards of the resources and opportunities we have been given (1 Peter 4:10). By voting, we take an active role in shaping the policies that affect our lives and the lives of those around us. This is our chance to ensure that our values are reflected in the leadership we support.

Seeking Justice

Micah 6:8 reminds us to "act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God." Voting empowers us to advocate for justice in our communities. By choosing leaders who align with our biblical values, we contribute to a society that reflects God’s heart for justice.

Protecting the Vulnerable

Throughout Scripture, we are called to care for the marginalized and vulnerable (Proverbs 31:8-9). By participating in the electoral process, we can influence policies that protect our children, our hurting, our elderly, and more. Our votes can amplify the voices of the least among us and drive change in our communities.

Living Out Our Faith

As Christians, our faith compels us to engage with the world around us. Voting is an expression of our values and beliefs. It is an opportunity to witness to our faith by promoting candidates and policies that align with the teachings of Christ.

Encouraging Community Engagement

Let us inspire one another to participate in this vital process. Encourage your friends and family to understand the issues at stake and to make their voices heard. When we vote as a unified community of faith, we demonstrate the strength of our God.

Take Action

As we prepare for this election, take time to pray for wisdom in your choices and seek God’s guidance. Educate yourself on the candidates and issues that will be on the ballot and encourage others to do the same.

Let us not sit idly by as the future of our nation and state is being decided. Let us take our biblical values to the polls, stand firm on them, and take action!

Let's pray for rain, and bring the umbrella!

Your vote is your voice—make it count!
