Delaware is the incorporation home to well over a million businesses. However, of the roughly 57,000 licensed businesses operating in the state, about 56,000 of them are considered small businesses. And, while roughly half of the workforce in Delaware is employed by the 1,000 largest businesses and state government, the other half of all working Delawareans are employed by small businesses. A PORT FOR THE FUTURE
Most Delawareans are aware of the Port of Wilmington. The history of the Port is entwined with the history of Wilmington and its centuries-old maritime industry. The Port is located at the confluence of the Delaware and Christina Rivers.

PORT OF WILMINGTON CELEBRATES FIRST PHASE OF UPGRADES

Delaware Gov. John Carney joined state and local officials along with port partners, the labor union representatives, customers and vendors, and executives of GT USA Wilmington in celebrating the completion of the first phase of the Port of Wilmington’s electrification project that brings a cleaner, greener, safer environment to the port.
