Client Success Story: Insane Equity in 1 Year Josh

Josh Zimmerman, an engineer who works for the U.S. Patent Office, is a savvy investor whose sweat equity paid off big time. Josh purchased his purple 2-unit rowhouse in Shaw in October 2014 for $625,000. He used a 203K renovation loan to help finance the critical renovations (mold remediation, gutting the lower level unit, structural and roof repairs) and he put a lot of sweat equity into the kitchens, master bath, and cosmetic updates. In August 2015, he refinanced and his new and greatly improved home appraised at $925,000. That's almost a 50% increase in value in less than 1 year and $300K in equity! Way to go, Josh! SevilleSeville, Spain: A Family's Olive Ranch

Located just 20 km outside Seville (about a 3-hour train ride from Madrid), Hacienda La Bodeguilla is a villa situated on 12 hectares (about 275 acres) of land housing over 45,000 olive trees that has been in our colleague, Ignacio Sagarminaga's family for over 50 years. September is the time of year for the harvest. Hundreds of workers pick 300,000 kilos (over 300 tons) of olives. Most are sold to shop owners throughout Spain and the rest are pressed into olive oil and sold to other European countries. The family villa is protected by friendly Mastiff guard dogs who enjoy sunbathing in their cobblestone courtyard and cooling off on the marble floor in the home's foyer. Sadly, this home isn't for sale. Click here for more photos of the property (and the dogs).

The jewel box villa sits on a long, narrow plot with a significant level change throughout. overlooking the shores of one of Lausanne, Switzerland's largest lakes, the client wanted a home to maximize views to both the south and west. to deal with the site's topography, it was decided that the residence would take similar shape and be split into two levels. in addition to the primary rectangular form, an outer shell juts outwards and up, functioning as a green wall...Click here for full article.
