MEET DEBORAH DOBES 

THIS MONTH'S FEATURED PRACTITIONER AT SPIRIT QUEST

As the oldest of 5 children raised in Oklahoma in a very religious family I learned a lot of theology. I am so grateful. I experienced the preaching and restrictions of the stringent rules we were taught to obey and follow.

All through out my life, from a very small child, I felt there was so more, experienced so much more. I felt there was more Love, more Magic, more Beauty, and most of all... peace all around us. But I did not hear much about that part of life. Instead I was raised to live in fear and obey through fear.

I have always had "feelings" about people, places and situations. As a child I had no one to listen to me or pay attention to my warnings or feelings which could be disturbing.
I remember my mom always having "feelings" that something was going to happen. This warning was usually followed by high anxiety and fear and it turns out she was always right.

Mom shared at an early age that I had a great aunt and uncle, both of whom would go to people's homes, sometimes in the middle of the night, somehow knowing the family had a loved one who was passing and they were there to let the family know they wanted help. My mom told me this was a sin and we were never to try to communicate or interfere with the dead, It was the Devils work. Now I know this belief is so misleading.

I have had to defend, as well as educate family, friends and strangers about my gifts and my work.

I truly know I am here to help heal emotions, relationships, old traumas, and  the pain of loss. I empathize and listen with love, compassion, and non-judgment in the work I am guided to do.
Over the years I have worked in medical and professional offices. And, yes, I have also been a waitress and a terrible bartender a couple of times.  I was not raised to know which alcohol mixtures go into a drink - haha! But I do know how to mix a few now!

One day, after experiencing a terribly draining day of dealing with attorneys and their legal work in helping patients with a range of injuries, my wonderful and supportive husband told me he believed I needed to begin to do my intuitive work full time. He's intuitive too and he knew I would be successful! 

So with a huge leap of faith, I quit my job and started reading full time at fairs. I began seeing people in my home or theirs, any chance I got to help someone, I would take the opportunity.

I know now without a doubt I am doing the work my Spiritual Self was destined to do.

When you come to me for a reading, we will hold hands and I will share with you who or what comes through. My experience is that the information I receive comes from someone or a situation that needs to be lovingly healed and forgiven, or possibly memories that want to be shared.

My intention is that after a reading or healing session with me, you leave feeling loved, valued, confident and at peace.

Each person is different and each and every session is different.

I have recently put more time and energy into healing work using a combination of  Reiki, Magnified Healing, and guided meditation while I use my own total energy and intent through Spiritual Guidance while I work on you.
My energy work has proven to be a very rewarding and humbling validation for me. "When you heal, I heal" and we both become less splintered and more complete. And like all of us, I still have so much to learn and experience.

One of my passions is working with children who are showing signs of their own intuitive gifts and beginning to have experiences. It fulfills my being to be able to guide them and teach them to protect themselves as they learn how to use their gifts for their highest good. This is a great honor to me. All children come in "knowing" and I am now seeing Autistic children are the highest of sensitives even when their experiences are sometimes discounted.

I also have the great joy of sharing through my classes "The Gift of Knowing," helping you to recognize how you receive and intuit your gifts, developing and using them to their highest good. You'll find that I will emphasize practice, practice, practice. This is how you gain your self-confidence!
