Families, Friends & Supporters:
We learned very late Sunday evening, 5 April, that the two people receiving community living supports living together in a JFGH group home have tested positive for COVID-19. They both have been admitted to Suburban Hospital and we are in close contact with their healthcare professionals. We hope and pray that they recover to good health.
Quarantine protocols, which were implemented weeks ago, are already in place at all of our locations. You should have received an email last week outlining what those protocols are. If you did not, please let us know and we will send it to you. We are supporting members of our staff who will work alongside these individuals. All employees who had primary contact with these individuals have been contacted, and there are no reports of anyone showing symptoms. We will monitor this very closely. They are self-quarantining so that they do not inadvertently expose others to the virus, and we are making sure they do not go to other JFGH locations for the next two weeks.
We are implementing and updating safety protocols constantly to minimize risk. We have been continuously following
or exceeding regulatory requirements and
best practices as they are put out and updated, and we are working to explore all additional and possible options for lowering risk for the people we support and our staff.
We have contacted the families of the two people we support, and will stay in close touch with them through the recovery period.
Our focus remains on aggressive, proactive steps to avoid infection across the organization, while we take careful care of these two individuals.
Stay well, stay healthy. And thanks for your support. We will continue to communicate with you to assure we are as transparent as possible.
