2023 Prayer Summit
In Acts 6:4, we find these words: “But we will devote ourselves to prayer and the ministry of the word.” If we are honest, we talk about prayer more than we actually pray, writes Monty Patton, director of Send Network Arizona.
Come experience "Scripture-Fed, Spirit-Led, Worship-Based Prayer” at the 2023 Prayer Summit on Jan. 23. There will be an afternoon session and dinner for pastors and church leaders, followed by a church-wide prayer summit that evening. This event, hosted by Thrive Network and Send Network Arizona, will be held at CityView Church in Phoenix.

First Person by Paul Meldrum: Worshiping at all levels
|
As a former airline pilot, Paul Meldrum, who will lead a Prayer Summit for Arizona Southern Baptists in Phoenix Jan. 23, has viewed the Grand Canyon's great expanse from 6 miles up. Hiking to the bottom, he's seen the greatest detail. And in between, are other noteworthy perspectives.
"As I considered my experience with the Grand Canyon, I found a strong personal correlation to my worship of our great God and King," Meldrum writes. "God calls us to worship Him at all levels so that we will know Him more intimately and depend on Him more fully."

Texas pastor, family head to Tucson to reach college students for Christ
Chris and Kristyn Cummings started the new year with a new address, as they moved their family of six from Texas to Tucson to plant a new church.
The family’s Tucson home is adjacent to the university, near enough for them to walk to UA basketball games. It’s a convenient location for them to start neighborhood outreaches soon after they get settled: block parties, family movie nights at local parks, and other informal events. They will also host a Sunday gathering at their home or a nearby park for volunteers.

Robert & Danielle Kane
Westerville, Ohio, is home to many successful, but spiritually blind people. And while the area is growing, Gospel-centered churches are few and far between. Robert and Danielle Kane sensed God’s call to meet that need and so they started Citizens Church.
Robert encourages the church to live with “eyes wide open,” able to recognize the unique opportunities God has placed before each of them to be faithful, Gospel witnesses. One of the ways the church has done this corporately is by hosting a neighborhood picnic at a local park. Through the event, they built relationships with people in the neighborhood. Your financial support through the Cooperative Program gives missionaries the help and resources they need to reach their communities and make disciples. Pray that Robert and his team at Citizens Church will have the wisdom they need as they attempt to be faithful in their ministry context.
