September 2024 Newsletter: A Decade of Impact

Expanding to South of Main Celebration

As we celebrate 10 years of Franklinton Rising, we reflect on our mission to reduce poverty and uplift the community. Over the past decade, we’ve positively impacted the lives of a multitude of young adults and created 16 affordable housing units. Our recent expansion into the “South of Main” area includes training 20-30 young adults and constructing four new affordable homes on Kelton Avenue, while our operations in Franklinton continue.

We are also proud of two former trainees who have become homeowners of rebuilt properties and are now role models within the community.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this special celebration and to all who have supported our mission. Together, we look forward to many more years of positive change!

Housing Progress

93 Chicago: Our team has been busy enhancing the space with fresh paint and detailed interior trim work, bringing us closer to the final touches.

89 Chicago: We’re making significant progress on the electrical and plumbing rough-ins, ensuring the groundwork is solid for the next phases of construction.

533 Kelton: The foundation is being laid as we kick off this exciting new project, marking the beginning of a transformative journey.

Lunch and Learn

We recently hosted a Lunch and Learn with Mark Banta, Senior Construction Manager and Instructor of Construction Systems Management at The Ohio State University. Mark shared insights from his career journey and offered valuable advice to aspiring construction professionals.
