Sharing the love of Jesus with children around the world through Christian education
Decade to Disciple

January, 2020
Raising Up the Next Generation
I saw this picture at the Tampa Convention Center when attending the LCMS convention in July. It reminded me of the disciples... after Pentecost: their attention turned toward fulfilling the Great Commission; casting their nets to save the lost; and fending off the evil attacks of sin, death, and the devil.

As an evangelical, confessional church, we are not only called to follow the example of the first disciples, but to also raise up the next generation to continue our Lord's command to "go and make disciples."

Lutheran schools and educational ministries play a pivotal role in accomplishing this task. It is especially critical in the third world countries where LeadaChild supports many educational project sites.

We are calling this new decade " A Decade to Disciple." Continue to partner with us through your encouraging words, prayers, and financial support as many children come to faith in Christ... and eventually lead others to the Savior's waiting arms!

A Big "Thank You"...
...To All Giving "Fronts"
As we step into the new decade, we are extremely grateful for the dedicated supporters of LeadaChild.
We thank all of our online givers who send in their monthly pledges, our faithful long-time givers who send in regular gifts, and our one-time givers who send in a special yearly gift.

We also thank those who give through organizations such as Thrivent, LCEF, and other financial institutions.
All of you make our ministry possible!
Developments in Sierra Leone
In December, Kent White (LeadaChild board member) and I traveled to Bo, Sierra Leone to lead a teacher workshop for the Lutheran school teachers serving throughout the country. A group of teachers from neighboring Guinea also joined us for the workshop.

We covered a variety of topics, such as an overview of Scripture and the connections to Luther's Catechism, building a school program on a solid Biblical foundation, integrating the faith into all parts of the curriculum and daily activities, and the marks of an effective teacher.

We also visited St. Martin Lutheran School located in Bo. We hope to support them in creating a dynamic model of Lutheran education that can be replicated throughout the area. Please keep these dedicated pastors and teachers in your prayers, along with our efforts to move the discipleship process forward in Sierra Leone and West Africa.
