Opening Reflection

Happy Women's History month, with committee deadlines approaching, the last two weeks of March have been hectic. Recently I've had the opportunity to participate in a few interviews that broadcast what we are trying to accomplish this legislative session.

I never knew that being on a radio show would be on my bucket list, but the experience was one I'll never forget. The interview covers HB 2472 and why I decided to sponsor the bill.

On March 17th, Senator Sollman and I provided updates on SB-4 to KGW news. Together we addressed Oregon's involvement in the semiconductor industry, the path of semiconductor legislation, and the nature of these investments.

This week, Senate bill 4 officially passed and is scheduled to make its way to the house floor sometime soon. House Bill 2467, a bill that advocates for public defenders and offers loan assistance to public defense attorneys, is on its way to another committee.

All bills on track to the house or senate floor must make it out of committee no later than April 4th.Aside from my role as a representative, I was able to spend quality time with my children during their spring break. They are all doing well, and that's what matters most to me as a mom.

There is still plenty of more work to be done, but thank you again for supporting me and finding ways to connect with me. I promise to continue to give you my best.
