Education For The Win!

Closing the opportunity gap requires YOU. Join us in helping young people in their learning journey and lead them forward to the next level. Choose the location that works for you!

The Jersey Cares Coat Drive Begins
For 22 years, The Jersey Cares Coat Drive has collected and distributed hundreds of thousands of "gently used" coats to men, women and children in need. In 2016 - thanks to you - we collected and distributed more than 30,000 coats throughout the state. In order to provide warmth to even more people this year we will need to collect 5,000 coats a week. We started out with a bang, collecting 2,760 our first weekend at the NJ Devils game. Start a drive in your community or find one near you!
Halloween Costume Drive Update

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Halloween Costume Drive! As one of our partners told us, the costumes that some of their children received were the first costumes they had ever owned. Because of your generosity, 3,720 children, rather than feeling left out, were able to enjoy an evening of spooktacular revelry with their friends!
Jersey Cares  is honored to be selected by the Citi Foundation as a 2017 Youth Workforce Fund Community Partner. Jersey Cares will address the disconnect between workforce development training and employment opportunities for Newark young adults, by positioning them to be the focal point of merging efforts between major companies and Newark’s nonprofit sector. Specifically, students will receive workforce development training from major companies; training which will then be applied to non-profits in Newark to help build capacity.
Mondelez #Impact4Good
This October, Jersey Cares partnered with Mondelez as a part of their #Impact4Good initiative, a new global volunteer program that empowers Mondelez employees to grow their community impact. As a part of this program, Mondelez employees have been working tirelessly to improve communities in countries like Austria, Ghana, the United States, and many others around the globe. Jersey Cares assisted Mondelez in this new initiative by engaging close to 150 Mondelez volunteers at five locations around New Jersey.
Volunteer Star
Lesly graduated from the University of Illinois last May with a degree in Accounting. She has been volunteering in different capacities since high school and decided to continue her involvement after she moved back to New Jersey to study for the Certified Public Accounting exam. Lesly views volunteering as an opportunity to meet new people. Jersey Cares appealed to her because of the broad range of opportunities offered in different communities and impact areas.
