Spring has sprung! The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and new beginnings are happening all over the place. We are incredibly grateful for the new beginnings that happen at TIS every day, thanks to you!

Take a look at what you made possible this month:

A Family Reunited!

Shamyra first joined us at Evelyn's Place, our singles shelter. She had come to us by herself while her children stayed with family. After working with her case manager, this month, Shamyra moved into one of our transitional apartments along with her children! The photo shown here is of Shamyra packed, happy, and ready to move. We are so glad to see this family back together, thanks to your support!

Nia Earns Her Money Fundamentals Certificate!

The guests at Evelyn's Place have been participating in our Money Fundamentals class since March. Nia is the first in the class to have completed the first nine-week section of the curriculum, earning her Money Fundamentals 1 certificate! Congratulations, Nia... Keep it going!

Our guests are able to reach these milestones thanks to your generosity!

April is Volunteer Appreciation Month!

Since our very first day, Talbot Interfaith Shelter has been blessed to have the best volunteer team in the world. When we were acting as a rotating cold-weather shelter, volunteers provided transportation, meals, laundry services, and even slept at the shelter overnight.

As our program, has grown, our incredible volunteer community has grown with it, making sure that our shelter guests are fed every single night, and providing supervision so that our staff can leave the property if needed.

Volunteers help keep our properties well-maintained. They assist us in moving furniture and readying transitional apartments for guests. They help organize fun community events where more people can learn about our mission.

In addition to all of the wonderful work these special souls do for our organization, they also help save TIS hundreds of thousands of dollars in costs each year.

Team TIS comes from every corner of our community for one purpose - to make sure that our neighbors have everything they need to achieve Success - and we could not be more grateful!

THANK YOU TO ALL OF OUR AMAZING VOLUNTEERS!

Spotlight on Team TIS!

This month, we are thrilled to shine our Team TIS Spotlight on the many wonderful TIS supporters who made sure that our guests had a memorable Easter! Terri Lively, Katie Glose and friends, Kelli Miles, Pat Hervey, Janis Seegar, and others donated Easter baskets for all of the children in our program. The Talbot Garden Club delivered beautiful, fresh cut flowers to help decorate our two shelter homes. John Hein made a generous donation that enabled Fran to purchase ingredients so that all of the guests in our apartments could enjoy a home-cooked Easter dinner. We are so grateful to everyone who participated in making the holiday special - your thoughtfulness leaves an indelible mark on our guests' hearts!
