Paying it Forward
Peace & Smiles Boxes

Peace & Smiles Parties have become such a big part of the Pitzer family's annual holiday tradition! Their daughter, Liberty, was a recipient of one of our boxes during a hospital stay years ago. It made such an impact on her and her family, they made a decision to 'pay-it-forward' by hosting their own Peace & Smiles effort.

The party grows each year! Friends & family gathered over the holidays this year to create over 200 boxes!! Liberty's sister, Faith, got her 1st grade class involved too! We are so moved by Liberty's story and by the kindness of this family.

Fun Fact!
To date... 11,662 Peace & Smiles Boxes have been delivered, bringing comfort to children in crisis situations in the tri-state area!
Take Your Child to Work Day Thursday April 27th

Take Your Child to Work Day is Thursday April 27th. Many companies incorporate a community service segment into the day for the children. Take a look at our website for more information or contact us with questions about bringing Giving Tree projects to your company. We are happy to customize projects for you and your young visitors.
Does Your Company 'Match'?
Employee Matching Program

Does your company match charitable donations?
Your employer may allocate corporate giving dollars to 'match' donations made by employees to eligible non-profit organizations.

We would love to be considered. Please check out our website for more information or contact us with questions.
Random Act of Kindness Week
February 13th - 19th

Random Acts of Kindness Week is a great time to express unexpected acts of charity, helpfulness and... well.... kindness... to those around you. It's great to reach out to those we know but it is especially fun when you do something nice for a complete stranger.

Check out our list below... or come up with your own! It doesn't need to be anything heroic. Even the smallest act of kindness can have a big impact.
National Canned Food Month

This month, consider donating canned goods to local food pantries in celebration of National Canned Food Month. Food pantries provide for families who may struggle to put food on the table. This is a great activity to involve the kids!

  • Check with a local food pantry on their specific needs.
  • Create a wish list with your child and head to the grocery store.
  • Perhaps give your children a 'budget' or specific amount to spend.
  • Let them shop and pick items they feel would be appropriate to donate.
  • Use our Food Pantry Talking Points to spark discussion.
  • If possible, deliver the items as a family.
