Dear Emanu-El Family,

We'll resume our series on Passover Hows and Whys soon. In the meantime, here are a few things to know before Shabbat HaGadol, the Shabbat prior to Passover:

Friday Night Shabbat Melodies, April 3rd, 5PM:

We're going to add a couple of new features to our Erev Shabbat gathering. First, we'll recite a portion of the Friday night service, as most of the Kabbalat Shabbat service is permitted to be recited prior to the beginning of Shabbat. No need to bring a siddur - the prayers will appear on the screen for you to follow along. Following that, we'll be honored to have Samuel Steinberg chant his Bar Mitzvah Haftarah. Please join us as we expand our Shabbat offerings (https://zoom.us/joinZoom Meeting ID: 593 714 1590; no password required).

Global Gathering for Healing, April 5th, 12 Noon:

Looking for a worldwide spiritual experience in these dark times?  Join thousands of people from throughout the world  for the  Global Gathering for Healing  on Sunday, April 5th, at 12:00 noon ET on Facebook Live.  This is a free, live event with a roster of high-profile, global presenters including David Broza, Rabbi Naomi Levy, and Joey Weisenberg, who will participate from their home cities, including Jerusalem, London, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia and São Paolo.  Click here for more information .

More Information About Seders:

Please let me know ([email protected]) ASAP if you are willing to include someone from our community in your Virtual Seder on the first night of Passover (Wednesday, April 8th), or, if you are looking for a seder to log into that night.

Let me tell you a little more about my second-night Seder on Thursday, April 9th, beginning at 6:00PM. It's intended to be a full Seder experience - you'll follow along with the Haggadah I put together for our congregational Seders (the text will be posted on the screen); there will be a break for the meal and then reconvening for the second part of the Seder; and I hope to call on people to help lead English readings (https://zoom.us/join; Meeting ID: 781 233 310; Password: 099461; 100 logins maximum).

Are Your Talit and Tefillin Still at the Synagogue?

If you'd like to get them back, please contact Daphne at [email protected] or (843) 442-6086 to arrange for a safe way for you to pick them up from her home.

Hope to See You "At" Minyan Tomorrow at 7:15AM! Stay Safe!

B'shalom,
Rabbi Rosenbaum
