Western Sidereal Astrology

A Free Webinar with Kenneth Bowser

Kepler College

Saturday, February 28th, 2015
1:00-2:30 pm PST

Western sidereal astrology is based on the Babylonian sidereal zodiac, the original zodiac. Sidereal, from the Latin, sidus, (star) is the type of astrology that reckons celestial longitude from the stars, rather than the vernal equinox. Western sidereal astrology is both new in the West and the revival of an ancient art. Babylonian astrology was introduced to the West in 1944 by Cyril Fagan, an Irish astrological scholar, after he had studied the translations of the ancient Babylonian astronomical and astrological texts excavated from the Near and Middle East.

This lecture will provide an overview of the history and practice of western sidereal astrology. The differences between the tropical and sidereal zodiacs will be explained. The talk will also include the rationale and use of the dignities and debilities. Originally sidereal, these powerful positions provide important information when examined in their original context. Examples of the power of these positions in the natal chart and a comparison of tropical and sidereal solar returns will also be included.

A recording of the webinar will be sent to everyone who registers for this event.

Western Sidereal Astrology

Western sidereal astrology is based on the Babylonian sidereal zodiac, the original zodiac. In this easy to read book, Kenneth Bowser shows the western astrologer how to use the sidereal zodiac for accurate astrological interpretations. Both professional astrologers and students will appreciate the clear and helpful delineation of the planets, signs, houses and aspects as they appear in the sidereal chart. Ken also offers an in-depth look at the forty-five planet combinations--a valuable resource for all astrologers. Each combination is illustrated with examples that serve as a guide for interpretation. Also included are three appendices: historical information, the origins of the exaltations and an in-depth look at the tropical-sidereal debate. Buy on Amazon.com
