Dear Friends of CARES,
On behalf of everyone at CARES, I wanted to thank you for your support of the 2nd annual Erase the Trace and my ride to fund glioblastoma research.
This year’s event was memorable, beautiful, exciting, painful, exhausting and after 444 miles my “lower posterior” will never be the same! I am incredibly grateful to all who participated and supported the ride. With each push of the pedal, each mile traveled and each dollar raised I was reminded that, together, we would be changing the future of those suffering from glioblastoma.
Words fall short when I try to express my sincerest gratitude for the incredible support I received. I was on the bike, but I couldn’t do it alone and many people were instrumental in ensuring that I could make it all 444 miles.
Thank you to Scott Williams for dreaming up this ride, and to his amazing wife Ellie for all the support during this 444-mile adventure.

A huge thank you to Steph Allen of Giant Bicycles who supplied me with an incredible bike when supply chain disruptions were preventing normal business operations. The “Black Bullet” was a joy to ride and I loved the custom details included like the “84” that I looked at when I needed that extra boost of motivation. I will forever be grateful for Giant’s generosity and unwavering support. Also, a big thank you to Doug Ulman of Pelotonia, and Stuart Hunter of roll:Bicycle Company for making the introduction to Steph.
Thank you to all of our donors and supporters. This ride was meant to raise much needed funding and to draw attention to a cancer that desperately needs all the help it can get. The ride was supported by 43 states and 30 different countries. Each day we would talk about and pray for people fighting this insidious disease, and we would ride a mile for each one of them. An honor like no other.

A special thanks to Carrie Simons and her team at Triple7 PR for making sure this ride got all the media attention we could get. The People.com story brought much needed awareness to Erase the Trace and we truly appreciate all of your creativity and hard work.
Thanks to CARES supporter and cyclist Johnny Burrell for his time, wisdom and experience getting me through all 444-miles safely. Thank you to the riders who joined us, the cities who welcomed us, and everyone who sent video messages of support along the way.
We at CARES are so thankful for all of our partners, donors, followers, and especially those we serve in the cancer community. Our mission is to change the world forever and for the better by funding advanced cancer research that treats the cancer and spares the patient harm. We cannot do this work without each and every one of you.

On Friday, April 8th, the Coyotes Figure Skating Club came together to celebrate Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer™ Scottsdale and over $55,000 raised for cancer research! Joined by Olympic Gold Medalists Scott Hamilton and Ilia Kulik, our participants put on a celebration ice show and then took to the ice for a Frozen 5k, skating 35 laps to honor those they know impacted by cancer, and then dancing the night away at center ice. This event, initially planned for 2020, persevered through challenging times to support CARES healthcare partners at both Phoenix Children’s Hospital and the Mayo Clinic. Congratulations to all of our participants, and thank you to all the donors and sponsors who’s contributions made it possible!
