Greetings!
As we enter the Season of Giving, I am reminded of how powerful this community truly is. Ending the year with the launch of The Myth of Manhood felt incredibly special. I was deeply moved by the generosity of our donors and friends, and by the way our mentors came together in open, honest conversation. The breakout groups created space for rich reflection, and it was clear that this book could not be more timely. Outdated ideas of manhood no longer serve us, and Nyika’s courage reminded us that real change begins with becoming a good human being.
If you have not yet had a chance to read The Myth of Manhood, I would love to invite you to do so. It is a powerful reflection on culture, courage and the transformative role mentorship plays in reshaping what it means to be a man in Zimbabwe and beyond. Purchasing and sharing the book is a simple way to support this work, and all proceeds go directly towards our clubs.
As we shift from the launch into the heart of the season, I am holding deep gratitude for all we have achieved together this year. Our clubs have grown stronger, our curriculum has deepened, and our team has worked with such commitment to support the youth and organisations we walk alongside. It has been a year of real learning, shared purpose and meaningful connection.
We are now working towards raising twenty five thousand dollars before the end of the year so that our mentorship programs can continue to thrive in 2026. Your gift helps mentors like Nyika keep creating safe, nurturing spaces for young people in Zimbabwe and Zambia. If you are able to give, your support will make a very real difference.
This has also been a year held with tenderness. We were deeply saddened by the passing of Dumi, whose leadership shaped so many young lives. On a personal note, losing a close friend this year has reminded me of the importance of noticing the micro joys that appear quietly in our days. My hope is that this season brings you your own micro joys, moments of warmth, connection and gentleness.
If you are able to visit us in the coming year, we would love to welcome you into one of our clubs. Seeing the work in person brings everything to life. Priscilla and Pam are wonderful at helping arrange meaningful visits, through Global Sojourns (GSGC's sister travel company) that allow you to experience the heart of our programs.
Thank you for being part of this circle and for all the ways you help transformation continue to grow.
Warmest wishes,
Tara
