Ask yourself if your church, home church, independent ministry or or fellowship group, are bringing you into a life of primitive godliness such as Enoch, Noah, David, John the Baptist, the apostle Paul, Luther, Wesley and Others have found. They all experienced the POWER to say, "Yes to God and No to self-daily." They all had ears to hear God’s still small voice to give them enabling grace to surrender any known resistance in their life and depend upon the indwelling Christ for a God-honoring life.
If not, you may find yourself in the same awkward state as Hosea and Isaiah.
Hosea said it this way, “Israel is an empty vine, he brings forth fruit unto himself.” Hosea 10:1
Isaiah put it this way, “And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem, and men of Judah, judge, I pray you, betwixt Me and My vineyard.” Isaiah 5:3
What is going on? The church wanted the power and influence over the people rather than having the people find their completeness in God and God alone. Colossians 2:10, Acts 17:28 The trend of their work was to turn the people to itself, rather than to their God. Are the churches and religious groups any less guilty today than was the Jewish church in displacing God?
This was the prevailing sentiment in Christ day and history is repeating itself. So ask yourself the question, “Does your religious involvement bring you to itself or a life of Godliness such as Enoch and John the Baptist experienced?” If not, then, “Choose you this day whom you will serve … as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15
