make our nation strong. Amanda Morales-Guerra, 33-year-old and mother of three American citizens, who fled violent threats from a military faction in Guatemala and is now considered an ICE fugitive.
"We are a country built by immigrants from all over the world who, regardless of their legal status, make countless economic, social, and cultural contributions to this country. I join Amanda in her fight for a decent life in the United States. As a father, I don't want for her children, Daniela, Dulce, and David to grow up far apart from her if she is deported and they are left behind. Her children, as citizens of the United States, have the right to be raised in a stable and safe environment next to their mother.
"When we are closing so many doors to hard working immigrants, we are closing our own doors to a successful future for our country.
"It has been an honor to serve my community and this city these past 8 years. I am humbled to return as your council member to work shoulder to shoulder to build a community for all.

. Amanda Morales-Guerra, 33-años de edad y madre de tres ciudadanos Estadounidenses, que huyo de las amenazas violentas de una facción militar en Guatemala y ahora es considerada una fugitiva por ICE.
"Somos un país construido por inmigrantes de todo el mundo, que independientemente de su estatus legal, hacen innumerables contribuciones económicas, sociales y culturales a este país. Me uno a ella en su lucha por una vida decente en los Estados Unidos.
Como padre, no quiero que sus hijas e hijo, Daniela, Dulce y David crezcan lejos de ella en caso de una deportación quedando solos en este país si su madre. Ellos, como ciudadanos de los Estados Unidos, tienen el derecho a criarse en un entorno estable y seguro junto a su madre.
"Cuando cerramos las puertas a inmigrantes trabajadores, estamos cerrando las puertas a un futuro exitoso para nuestro país.
"Ha sido un honor servir a mi comunidad y a esta ciudad en los últimos 8 años. Me siento honrado de regresar como miembro del Consejo Municipal para trabajar juntos a ustedes y continuar construyendo una comunidad para todos".
