Unison Prayer

Faithful Redeemer, you are the beginning and ending of all things. You promise to wipe away every tear, that death and mourning will be no more. You make your home among us and abide with us as our God. Teach us to live as the saints you call us to be, that we may truly be your people, living and doing your will, in the name of Jesus, who is the Christ. Amen.

Call to Worship

L: In the beginning, God called the world into being, saying,

P: “Let there be light!”

L: In the fullness of time, Jesus came from God to us, saying,

P: “I am the Light of the world.”

L: In our everyday life, we see the work of the saints,

P: The ones in whom God’s light shines.

L: So let us give thanks for the saints this day,

P: And let us boldly worship God who has welcomed the saints that we have committed to him and prepares a home for each of us still. Amen.

Scriptures for next week:

1 Chronicles 28:2-8

Psalm 145:1-9

Philippians 4:8-13

Daylight saving time ends on November 3rd.

Don't forget to change your clocks back!

Mission Giving for November

Our Mission Focus for November is the Lakes Area Food Shelf. We make a special gift during this month to help build Thanksgiving meals for our neighbors who rely on the food shelf. It is estimated that the minimum cost of a meal is $28, and this is only because of the accessibility of the food shelf to special pricing and resources. We all know that $28 would not go far at the local grocery store. Our gifts together can do great things!

If you are giving towards these gifts, please use one of the envelopes provided at the back of the sanctuary or make a note on your check with "November Mission".

The next issue of the Upper Room will be available on November 1st.

On November 3rd during worship, we will be celebrating Communion and recognizing those who have passed away this past year for All Saints Day.

All Grace and Pine River women are invited to the Grace UWF Gathering on Thursday, November 7th beginning at 10:00 AM in the Fellowship Hall. The monthly theme is Food, Faith and Fellowship.

10:00---General Meeting: We will elect officers for 2025, approve the local mission giving for 2024 and collect our World Thank offering.

11:00---Program and Potluck: Our previous plan for the program this month was a "favorite dish potluck".  We want to make this a "mini" potluck, so we suggest small portions or maybe just appetizers.  Shawna Knutson will provide beverages. Tammy Larson, Lakes Area Food Shelf Executive Director, will be joining us for a brief update.

We hope to see you on November 7th!

I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the gifts, cards, and expressions of kindness shared with me last week and beyond! I am extremely blessed to serve where I do and look forward to the work that God is leading this church to do in the year ahead.

The Annual Charge Conference will be held in-person this year, but as cluster meetings within the various districts. Grace will attend the Aurora Sky District meeting held at Park UMC in Brainerd on SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 16, 2:00 PM. The business of this conference will be taken care of as we gather together for worship with one another and our Conference Superintendent, Rev. Laurie Kantonen.

Our Grace Leadership Team is strongly encouraged to attend. Others from the congregation are welcome. If you plan to attend, please notify Marsha Mower (m.mower@sbcglobal.net) as soon as possible. Thank you!

*We will not be having an Ad Council this month as previously scheduled.

Communication Reminder..........

The church office email (graceumcpequotlakes@gmail.com) should be used to inform the office about ALL events, meetings, or use of the building you would like to schedule so they can be added to the master calendar. This enables us to avoid scheduling conflicts and make sure the areas of the building are cooled/heated as needed. The official church calendar is maintained by volunteers. Additionally, did you know the church calendar is available on our website (graceumcpequotlakes.org)? There is a tab near the top, right side you can click to see the calendar!

Our Congregational Care Assistant, Ann Hutchings, is in the office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 9:00-noon. Her role is to follow-up with our church family, through telephone calls, notes and email, as well as greet and welcome those who visit our church and assist with any needs. Ann's email (graceumccare@gmail.com) should be used for "congregational care" needs only.

If you have something that should be added to this newsletter from your group or mission, please speak with Pastor Jen or email the details to her at jenmatt20@gmail.com. The E-Grace is generally completed by noon on Thursdays, so articles need to be received by Thursday 10am at the very latest.

If you wish to connect with me directly and it is not an emergency, please know that I will respond as needed during pretty regular office hours. I am generally in the church on Tuesday (830-1130) and Wednesday (10-3) call the office to be sure, as my weeks and Mondays vary. You may find me here at other times too! I check my emails frequently throughout the day, and this is the best way to contact me. Friday is my day off as needs allow.
