We had a blast this summer with the young people God brought to CBX. A great time was had by all, but most importantly the Good News was presented faithfully each day and the campers were pointed to Jesus as their only hope!
The campers came from all types of backgrounds from foster homes, single parent households, living with extended families, unchurched homes, and many other various situations.
The book of Romans tells us that those that are not of God are at enmity with God. We could see this struggle quite clearly as we shared the Gospel message with campers. Many were indifferent, some were angry, while others were willing to listen. Additionally, in each camp we found a group of campers that were desiring growth in the Lord. These campers were faithful to read the word each day and eagerly asked question during cabin time and at the formal Bible lessons. Much growth happened here!
One particular highlight was a group of high school girls that were eager to grow. These girls attended our Girls Red Hawk week and after seeing their desire to grow, we designed a follow up week of adventure activities centered around induvial discipleship opportunities. The 6 girls participating in this week were able to raft, horseback ride, go on a hike with Nick Brothers, and spend a good amount of 1 on 1 time with their counselors. This program was a highlight for our girls and our staff!
We are thankful for the work the Lord allows us to participate in here at CBX. There is a deep need to reach the mission field of the unchurched in America. At time the work seems daunting when there are 20-25 young people sitting before us that look at the message of the cross as foolishness, nonetheless we are faithful in the mission ahead and encouraged by those He is bringing to himself. Please keep CBX in your prayers as we continue in this difficult work and thank you for your support!
