A Happy Easter and a Happy Passover
to All Who Celebrate!
It may still be cold and windy outside but the sunshine says SPRING! Happy Easter and Happy Passover to all who celebrate. And a Happy Springtime to everyone!

Our office will reopen on Monday at 10am.

I just wanted to send a quick note to let you know that things are really HOPPING around the Theatre Collingwood Offices! I have been busy finalizing all the porches for the July PORCHSIDE FESTIVAL and I can tell you that it is going to be an amazing group of locations and artists. I’m kind of shaking my head over the idea I had of having 39 performances in one month! LOL! It’s a ton of work but honestly I am so thrilled to be doing it and to also be employing so many artists, and to be providing this quality of entertainment in Collingwood. I also have an amazing team of very hardworking staff who are all helping to make this happen! Here are all the things we are working on and what you may want to watch for and book:
SUMMER DRAMA CAMPS 2022
We have had waiting lists for our camps for two years and we are so happy to finally be able to offer them again. What these means is the camps are just going on sale now and are almost FULL! Info is below. Please call the office if you are interested.

April 5th-May 10th EFFECTIVE STORYTELLING CLASSES– FOR SENIORS WITH SOMETHING TO SAY
Our first senior’s storytelling classes are underway, with instructor Scott Hurst, and we are so impressed with all the participants! We are actually learning so much from them! It is our intention to continue to cultivate and offer drama education programs for seniors going forward. We know there is a demand. And we are working to be able to get funding to subsidize any senior who wishes to take classes but has financial restrictions. It is our belief that seniors have fascinating stories to tell and we want to listen!

NEWS FROM GASLIGHT COMMUNITY THEATRE - Four Scenes and a Cup of Tea

Four scenes were chosen from the Winter 2020 Scene Writing Course (taught by Dan Needles) to be performed on stage. These scenes have been secured in the Gaslight vault but are finally going to be released for a public viewing at the Simcoe Street Theatre on June 12th, 2022. Put this date on your calendar! The scenes are:

Princess Louise by Jake McArthur

TABATA by Janet Wilkinson

Doors by Drew Murdoch

What Goes Up by David Gee
Gaslight will be looking for Volunteer Actors to bring these scenes to life. These scenes are “lightly rehearsed”, and actors will have their scripts in hand. This is a perfect opportunity for those folks that would like to try some acting, without the responsibility of memorizing lines. This is a relaxed and informal way to get involved and have some fun!

Four Scenes and a Cup of Tea Important Dates:

AUDITIONS: Sunday May 1 (12pm - 3pm)

REHEARSALS: May 15, May 22, May 29, June 8 (evening), June 9 (evening)

PERFORMANCE DATE: Sunday, June 12

If you have any questions, please contact Anne Raciunas by emailing: [email protected]

Tickets will be on sale for $15.00 each and will be available through the Theatre Collingwood Box Office beginning on Monday, April 18th at 12:00pm.
Have a wonderful week! Please SHARE our news! Thank you!
