"This being human is a guest house. Every morning a new arrival. A joy, a depression, a meanness, some momentary awareness comes as an unexpected visitor. Welcome and entertain them all! Even if they're a crowd of sorrows, who violently sweep your house empty of its furniture, still, treat each guest honorably. He may be clearing you out for some new delight. The dark thought, the shame, the malice, meet them at the door laughing and invite them in. Be grateful for whoever comes, because each has been sent as a guide from beyond." RUMI
As I reflect on my life and read this quote by RUMI, I find myself 'welcoming' and 'entertaining' all of the mixed emotions, challenges, and even suffering more today than I used to and in doing so I am experiencing more inner peace and less toxicity and chaos.
Ironic as it may seem, I remember going through the rawness of my grief after the loss of my husband and purposely listening to pieces of music that took me toward that pain, yes, make me cry harder, wail louder, and hurt deeper. Friends and family couldn't understand and tried to deter me from that experience. One relative even uttered the words, "If you didn't listen to that song, you wouldn't feel so badly". The thing of it is I was
already 'feeling that badly' but it was stuck inside of me. I was simply letting it out, 'clearing me out'.
Friends and family may deter you from 'welcoming' and 'entertaining' the unexpected visitor simply because
THEY can't fix you and they feel helpless. It may be their own uncomfortableness that they cannot bear.
Honor the 'unexpected' visitor at the door laughing and invite them in. Go toward them.
"He may be clearing you out for some new delight."
I wish you all joy and peace in your hearts and much love and happiness in your souls.
Love and JOY,
Cynthia

By The Power of Positivity
Throughout life, we fall in and out of love with ourselves...a lot. Every time we have a negative thought about ourselves, we temporarily lose sight of our true loving nature. Even the ascended "spiritual masters" have had moments where they don't like themselves; the duality of love and hate, light and dark, you and I. It's a very persistent illusion that we all struggle to see past at times. In reality, we all come from Love, whatever and wherever that place may exist.
Because you originated from a place abound with love, that means it resides within you, as well. So, how can we uncover our true nature if we have been out of touch with it for so long?
Start with these six simple exercises daily if you want to experience greater self-love.

Hug Therapy
Hugging therapy is definitely a powerful way of healing. Research shows that hugging (and also laughter) is extremely effective at healing sickness, disease, loneliness, depression, anxiety and stress.
Research shows a proper deep hug, where the hearts are pressing together, can benefit you in these 10 ways:
1. The nurturing touch of a hug builds trust and a sense of safety. This helps with open and honest communication.
2. Hugs can instantly boost oxytocin levels, which heal feelings of loneliness, isolation, and anger.
3. Holding a hug for an extended time lifts one's serotonin levels, elevating mood and creating
happiness.
4. Hugs strengthen the immune system. The gentle pressure on the sternum and the emotional charge this creates activates the
Solar Plexus Chakra. This stimulates the thymus gland, which regulates and balances the body's production of white blood cells, which keep you healthy and disease free.
5. Hugging boosts
self-esteem. From the time we're born our family's touch shows us that we're loved and special. The associations of self-worth and tactile sensations from our early years are still imbedded in our nervous system as adults. The cuddles we received from our Mom and Dad while growing up remain imprinted at a cellular level, and hugs remind us at a somatic level of that. Hugs, therefore, connect us to our ability to self love.
6. Hugging relaxes muscles. Hugs release tension in the body. Hugs can take away pain; they soothe aches by increasing circulation into the soft tissues.

The Science of Empathy
And Why Some People Have it Less than Others "Corporate empathy is not an oxymoron," concluded an article in the Harvard Business Review on January 8. "It is a hard skill that should be required from the board-room to the shop floor."
Indeed, fellow-feeling has come to be seen as a means to a better bottom line. An empathetic customer service representative creates customer loyalty, while an empathetic manager creates engagement and employee loyalty-deeply necessary in a world where 70% of workers say they are not enthusiastic about their jobs, reports Forbes. Companies offering "empathy training" have popped up everywhere, often leveraging the old adage that to empathize with someone, you must first "walk a mile in his shoes." In other words, if you are a manager who has overcome one of life's many challenges, you are naturally well-placed to empathize with employees facing similar struggles, and help them find a way through. But people who have suffered are often the least compassionate. ...
