A Word from Pastor Jeff

Hello Harbor family,

“What’s a Christmas-gram? I want one!”

Now that December is here, we can officially quote Christmas movie characters like Buddy the Elf! Christmas is such a special time of year, filled with joy, wonder, and opportunities to grow closer to Jesus and each other. We have so much in store for you this Christmas season at The Harbor!

NEW SERIES — This Sunday, we are kicking off our Christmas sermon series, The Message from the Manger.

Christmas is rich with meaning, but in the midst of the hustle and bustle, it’s easy to overlook the deeper messages God has for us in this season. The manger isn’t just a prop in a nativity scene or a lyric in a carol—it’s a profound declaration of God’s love and purpose for humanity. Through this series, we’ll explore the messages God is speaking to the world through the manger itself.

Expect surprises and inspiration along the way as we discover how to live out the Message from the Manger. Take a moment to pray about who you might invite to join us as we celebrate this life-changing message together as a church family.

ANNUAL COMPASSION OFFERING —

Our Annual Compassion Offering is an extraordinary opportunity to make an impact for God’s Kingdom. Every dollar given supports outreach efforts that change lives here in the Bay Area and around the globe.

This year, we’re trusting God for $228,250 to fuel these efforts. You can see how these funds will be used on the pie chart. Please ask God how He might use you to contribute.

Giving is open now! Click the Give tab on our website or app, and then use the drop down menu under Fund to choose Compassion. Click here to go directly there. If giving in person, please write “Compassion” on your check or envelope.

Together, we can make a difference that ripples far beyond what any of us could do alone. Let’s each pray, “God, what do You want to give through me?” Then, trust Him to use your generosity to accomplish His purpose.

CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICES — Mark your calendar for one of our three identical Christmas Eve services: Tuesday, December 24, at 1:00 PM, 3:00 PM, and 5:00 PM.

This year’s service will be unlike anything we’ve done before. Our Worship Arts Team has crafted a powerful, worship-filled experience that will bring the Christmas story to life in an unforgettable way. I’ve already been deeply moved by the plans for this service, and I can’t wait for you to experience it too.

Kids ministry will be available at the 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM services, but not at 5:00 PM. We will have activity bags to occupy your children during the 5:00 PM service.

If you can't join us in person on Christmas Eve, please be sure to join us for the live broadcast of our services at the same times, 1:00 PM, 3:00 PM, and 5:00 PM. You can attend the online services on our app, website, or YouTube channel. Go directly there by clicking: https://theharborlive.online.church/ or YouTube.com/TheHarbor.

Christmas Eve is a perfect time to invite friends, family, co-workers, and neighbors. The easiest ways to invite people is to hand them an invite card (Grab a few at church on Sunday!) or to share our social media posts on Instagram and Facebook. Let’s celebrate the arrival of Jesus together in a way that will leave a lasting impact on our hearts and minds and on those around us!

SPECIAL NOTE: NO SERVICES DECEMBER 29th, ONLINE DEVOTIONAL

On December 29, we will not hold in-person services. Instead, we’ll provide a short online devotional designed for families to enjoy together. This will be available on YouTube, our app, website, and our social media channels: Instagram and Facebook. We’ll return to in-person worship on Sunday, January 5, as we kick off 2025 together!

That wraps up your Harbor Christmas-Gram. Thank you, Buddy the Elf! My prayer is that this season will be filled with joy, peace, and the wonder of God’s love for you and your loved ones. I look forward to celebrating with you at The Harbor as we honor and worship our Savior together.

Til the end,

Jeff Maness
