Yaas Azmoudeh, Macaulay-City College ’22 and CUNY SPH ’23, found a way to meld her love of medicine and music. Through the CUNY BA program, she curated a unique major in neurobiology and music cognition on a pre-med track. Yaas also started CUNY’s first chapter of the Musical Empowerment program, which pairs college musicians with public school students to provide free, one-on-one music lessons. The program aims to equip college students with mentorship skills and enrich young lives.
Yaas' Advice: "You are your own best advocate. There is always a way to pursue your interests. If you don't see yourself in a particular major that your school offers, look into CUNY Baccalaureate."
