Dear Friends,

As we enter the holiday season, I want to take a moment to pause, breathe and truly reflect on something that means the world to me: you. If you are reading this newsletter, it means you have invited me into your inbox, into your professional world, and in many cases, into your personal growth journey. That is an honor I don’t take lightly. At this time of year — when we are encouraged to count our blessings — I count you among mine.

This newsletter is filled with guidance designed to help you stand out, shine brightly and connect more meaningfully in an ever-noisy world. Whether you’re reading an article about refreshing your professional headshot (you may notice that I have a new one), understanding the role of LinkedIn in being findable online, or exploring how to share your expertise with authenticity, each topic is ultimately about one thing: your personal brand.

Your personal brand is the unique combination of your voice, your presence, your values, your experiences and the stories only you can tell. It is the sum of everything that makes you…you. And every month, my goal is to help you strengthen that brand, so it becomes a beacon — something that draws in the people, opportunities and relationships that align with who you are and what you offer.

A strong personal brand works like a magnet. It attracts the right people — the people who resonate with your story, value your expertise, and would benefit from connecting with you. Just as importantly, it gently repels the people who aren’t the right fit. And here’s the beautiful truth: you don’t need the whole world in your network. You just need the right people.

You deserve a circle of connections who support your goals, appreciate your contributions and help you grow. And they deserve to find you when they need exactly what you bring to the table. That’s why being findable online is no longer optional — it’s essential. People are searching for you, whether you realize it or not. They might be searching for your skills, your insights, your services, or your experience. And when they go looking, your personal brand is what helps them recognize you as the exact person they’ve been hoping to find.

Does that make sense? If it feels a little abstract, that’s okay. Personal branding is something I’ve spent my entire career understanding, teaching and refining. I’m here to help you make sense of it — step by step, tool by tool, story by story.

And here’s the part that always makes me smile; not only can I help you build your brand, but I can also help connect you with the right people. I sometimes joke that this is what I was born to do — but as you know, all jokes come from a place of truth. I’ve spent decades building networks, nurturing relationships and creating communities. Introducing people, opening doors and helping others succeed is one of the great joys of my life.

So, as you read through this newsletter, I hope you’ll see it as a gift I created just for you — filled with encouragement, insight and practical tips to help you show up as the best version of yourself. You have something valuable to offer, and the world needs to see it, hear it and connect with it.

Thank you for being part of my community. Thank you for reading, learning, sharing and growing with me. I am truly grateful for you — not just during the holidays, but all year long.

Wishing you a season full of warmth, connection, joy and meaningful moments.

With gratitude and cheer,

Nancy Marshall

Tip of the Month

Be consistent in how you show up — online and in person.

Use the same tone, personality, and visual cues across your LinkedIn profile, website, emails, headshot and real-world interactions. When someone meets you at an event and then looks you up online, they should feel like they’re encountering the same person. This builds trust instantly and makes your brand memorable.
