Despite not being the Chosen Bird of the Devout, this flamingo is feeling religious this weekend. Let the faithful flock congregate at the John Wesley Ellis Residence, the former Good Samaritan Hospital that has held three different addresses.
The twice-moved John Wesley Ellis Residence is the last of the Bunker Hill homes in the City of Angels and a miracle of modern restoration thanks in no small part to its many residents over its 140 year history. This Stick style Victorian boasts refurbished wood floors walked upon by Gilded Age doctors, restored stained glass windows that witnessed the rise of Hollywood, and turn-of-the-Century pocket doors that travailed this town before settling in Angeleno Heights, just a quick jaunt from Downtown LA — a rather short pilgrimage in comparison to most.
