HELP WHEN CANCER STRIKES
Shandy Potes Mangra (she/her/hers) – Health Equity & Community Outreach Manager, Angel Foundation
Shandy holds a master’s degree in Global Public Health from the University of Saint Catherine. She has nearly 15 years of experience working in healthcare and education. Shandy serves as a committee member on several projects, including the Community Health Workers Twin Cities Pathways Model, which aims to reduce disparities in health outcomes for communities of color, low-income communities, and other historically marginalized populations.
Angel Foundation, which helps support adults with cancer and their families, knows it must do more to reach community members. As a Community Health Worker, Shandy gained vital insight into the obstacles many Minnesotans who rely on social programs face. That now drives her to promote health equity and social justice for diverse populations.
In helping Angel Foundation, Shandy works to incorporate more culturally responsive practices to reach more individuals and families and create dynamic partnerships. Additionally, she looks at building relationships with community groups, organizations, agencies, and leaders to reach community members better.
