And They’re Off…
With young Dieter leading the way, a good group of the SoJ family set off on their first “Wilderness Walk” before returning to the church for a pasta supper sponsored by the Compass youth. Pastor Megan, accompanied by Choir Director Luke Leverett, then led the Holden’s Evening Service.

Lilly Endowment Clergy Renewal Grant:
There have been so many words of encouragement and support for the decision to apply for a Clergy Renewal grant from the Lilly Endowment. Thank you. It’s an exciting idea. The grant will enable Pastor Megan to take a paid leave during the summer of 2027 to engage in study, travel, and spiritual renewal. Many pastors are fortunate to have Renewal Leaves; in her 16 years of pastoral ministry, Pastor Megan has not. It’s time. And the congregation has every reason to be just as excited as she. We both will benefit from the opportunity to renew and refresh if we are awarded a grant. A “Clergy Leave Committee” (Becca Clark, Sharon Frels, Marvel Maddox, and Stan Meyer) is developing ideas and plans for the congregation for that summer.
The deadline to submit our “Clergy Renewal Proposal” is approaching. We have made considerable progress completing the two sections that are at the center of our proposal: the description of the “Rationale and Design” of the Renewal Leave, and the “Program Outline & Budget.” Our target to hit the “submit” button is March 8. We will have to wait until September 1, however, to know if we were named as one of the national recipients. Please see Romans 15:13.

MARCH FOR PEACE: Pastor Megan will be attending this event on Saturday - joining at St. Joseph's Catholic Church (535 New Laredo Hwy) at 12pm. This will be a 4-mile walk at this point in the march. Interested in joining or carpooling? Contact Pastor Megan
Or, feel free to meet up at St. Henry's Catholic Church (1619 S. Flores) at 2pm for a shorter walk of 1.5 miles.
And be sure to wear your "God's Work, Our Hands" or Spirit of Joy t-shirts!!!

CONFIRMED PICTURE WALL:
In an effort to help fill our worship space with reminders of our vibrant future as a congregation, we are working to create a picture wall of SOJ confirmands over the last fifteen years.
We will be looking through our own photo libraries, but we are asking any parents of past confirmands to send pictures as well.
If you have a child who went through confirmation, could you please email Christa Strauss the following information:
1. Full name of confirmand
2. Date of confirmation
3. Attached pictures of the confirmation, focusing on group shots or other images reflecting the joy of the day.
Thank you!
