Join us during worship on Sunday, May 25, as we celebrate our High School and College graduates!

2025 Graduates:

Cordell Buckley - Kallyn Goodwin - Wesley Jeffords

Casey Silvius - Peyton Silvius

Graduate Spotlight: Cordell Buckley

Cordell Robert Buckley graduated from Resolute Academy on May 1st.

He hopes to go to college, starting at St. Philip's and transferring later to Texas State. He is still undecided about his major. His interests have always been technology and trains.

Thank you, everyone, for the prayers that have carried him to this point.

Cordell is the son of Patti Buckley.

Graduate Spotlight: Kallyn Goodwin

Kallyn Goodwin is graduating from Seguin High School. She has accomplished so many things while at SHS. She is in the top 15% of her class, and a member of many clubs including The National Honor Society. She was recently chosen by her teachers and high school staff as the “Student of the Year”. Kallyn has worked at HEB for the past two years and hopes to transfer to the Stephenville, Texas, location at the end of the summer.

She will attend Tarleton State University in the fall and will major in biology with plans to pursue a career as a PA.

Kallyn is the daughter of Jenny and Kaleb Goodwin and sister of Karlee and Kooper.

Graduate Spotlight: Wesley Jeffords

Wesley Jeffords enjoyed his time in high school, participating in Choir, Theater, and was selected to be a member of the National Honor Society. He was selected for Region Choir in 2024, and will perform at State Solo and Ensemble as a vocalist in May. Wesley was a delegate to Texas Boys State and served as representative and Vice-Chair on the inaugural Cibolo Youth Council, which he advocated for several times at city council meetings.

In the fall, he will attend the University of Texas at Austin, majoring in Government and aspires to become a lawyer.

He would like to say thank you for your support and acceptance at Spirit of Joy.

Wesley is the son of Darcey Jeffords-Medders (mother), and Ryan (father) & Eliza (stepmother) Jeffords, and brother of Dean and Oliver.

Graduate Spotlight: Casey Silvius

Casey Silvius graduated cum laude from Trinity University with a B.S. in Engineering Science and a specialization in electrical engineering.

He is now on the search for a job in the tech industry, hoping for a role working with semiconductors.

Casey is the son of Jackie and Pete Silvius and brother of Peyton.

Graduate Spotlight: Peyton Silvius

Peyton Silvius graduated cum laude from Trinity University with a B.A. in Sociology and a minor in Education. She will return to Trinity in July to begin her pursuit of a Master of Arts in Teaching.

She seeks to earn a certification for teaching at the secondary level.

FELLOWSHIP FRIDAY.jpg

Spirit of Joy Fellowship Friday:

To help celebrate the beginning of the summer break from school, the congregation is invited to the Ehlers Home (499 Lakeview Drive) on Friday, May 30th, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.

Food, fun, and fellowship: There will be a Taco Bar, lemonade, tea, water and some adult beverages. Games (for kids and adults both) and space to sit and visit and enjoy some fellowship time will also be provided.

What to bring? Yourselves and lawn chairs, in case we run out of seating.

So we will know how much food to prepare, we need to know how many are coming. Please text Jennifer at 830-305-1352, or sign-up at the resource table in the worship center.

Also, watch for information about a second Fellowship Friday sometime in June!

Christian Cupboard Needs Donations:

Children will be at home for summer break and Christian Cupboard wants to help feed those families in need in our community.

There will be a goodwill offering to assist the Christian Cupboard on Sunday, May 25.

With recent federal grant cuts, the food bank is low on food items. Donations will be given to the Christian Cupboard to purchase the food that they need. This is an emergency benevolence.

Please indicate on your check (or envelope) that it is for the Christian Cupboard.
