News From The
Georgia Tech Staff Council
January 13, 2022
Greetings and happy New Year from Georgia Tech Staff Council!

As 2022 Staff Council chair, I am excited about the opportunities a new year brings. I am also honored to serve in the footsteps of those who came before me to pave the way for Staff Council to be what it is today – a voice to engage and advocate on your behalf, and to inform you about matters affecting Tech staff.

Since our establishment in 2014, the Council has done tremendous things for the staff community at Georgia Tech: we have implemented a yearly staff appreciation event; established 1- and 5-year anniversary gift recognition distributions; and expanded the Institute’s Staff Tuition Reimbursement Assistance Program to include technical diplomas and – as of last week – professional certifications. We have also hosted informational town halls; kicked off our Wellness Wednesday series; sponsored personal protective equipment distribution events around the campus; and are making strides toward establishing an Employee Career Development Center. 2022 promises to bring these same initiatives and more.

We are always available to receive your feedback via email (staffcouncil@gatech.edu), our monthly office hours, or by reaching out directly to a Council member. Finally, please be sure to spread the word about Staff Council to your colleagues and encourage them to sign up for our biweekly newsletter here

I look forward to working for you,

J. Candice Bovian
Program Manager, Georgia Tech Human Resources
