Dear CLDA Family,

As I enter my second year as president of the Customized Logistics and Delivery Association, I take great ‎pride in knowing that CLDA has never been more relevant and important for those in the transportation ‎and logistics industry across the nation and around the world. I've come to think of CLDA as a multi-‎national, best-in-class association representing all facets of the delivery industry and providing abundant ‎opportunities to learn, teach, mentor, and share our strengths.

I'm proud of our association’s successes over the last year, particularly in providing more opportunities for ‎meaningful engagement for our members and sponsors, and I want to share a few highlights from 2020‎.
  • Hosting our most successful and best-attended Final Mile Forum and Executive Leadership Summit ‎in CLDA history ‎
  • Redefining CLDA’s vision and mission statement and creating a blueprint for the association’s ‎growth during our strategic planning session in August
  • Advocating for the best interests of our members regarding government regulations at the ‎national and state levels
  • Creating our Diversity and Inclusion Task Force to help define who we want to be as an inclusive ‎association
  • Developing a number of new initiatives to create value for our members, including our upcoming virtual ‎Shipper/Carrier round table event
  • Modernizing our website, including an educational component for current and future members to ‎continue staying up-to-date on best practices
  • Remaking our magazine, taking it to a digital format and completely reenergizing the content
  • Growing our Member Benefits Program to include a number of new member benefits, with more ‎coming in the upcoming weeks.‎
  • Partnering with other associations to bring additional networking opportunities to our members
  • Expanding our partnerships with shippers from all over the globe.‎
  • Creating the CLDA Advisory Group, which will include sponsors and other shareholders as special ‎advisors to our board
The changes around us—whether social, political, technological, economic or otherwise—require that we ‎help our members navigate through new and increasingly complex issues and continue providing a space to ‎come together to learn and grow. ‎

In the year ahead, we will continue these initiatives, as well as adding programming designed to meet our ‎mission statement: To advocate, educate and provide networking and growth opportunities for the ‎customized time-critical logistics industry.‎

Thank you, members, for your continued participation and enthusiasm in our association, and thank you to ‎our sponsors for your incredible support. I'd also like to give a special shout-out of appreciation to our ‎Board of Directors and to Matt Mantione, our Executive Director, for their tireless work on behalf of CLDA. ‎I am eternally grateful for the resources, guidance and support they provide each and every day. Thank you ‎all!‎

Wishing you a successful 2021, and looking forward to seeing you soon in person in Las Vegas!‎

Sincerely,
Steve Howard
