Hello Parkside Families,
As a follow up to Dr. Steinhoff’s message, we are thrilled at Parkside to be embarking on a project that will improve school safety with a secure entrance. We are also looking forward to having flexible classroom spaces and storage. As with any construction project, there will be disruptions to the regular routines.
This will result in changes to the arrival and dismissal procedures and events that typically occur at the end of the school year may be modified. As a result of the construction in our already confined space, there will not be guest parking to accommodate school visitors. Some traditional spring assemblies will be moved to Coebourn and some will not be possible under the planned constraints. I will be sending out more specific information as plans are solidified and will continually communicate with parents and guardians through email and newsletter updates. I will also be available prior to PTL meetings from 6:00-6:30 to discuss construction questions and concerns beginning in April. The April meeting will be held on April 10
th
, 2019.
New dismissal procedures will be sent out early next week that will affect car riders and walkers. I ask for your patience and understanding as construction begins this spring and continues over the summer. Summer Reading Counts will occur at Coebourn, as access to our building will be limited over summer break. I look forward to unveiling a refreshed and secure Parkside when we return in the fall.
