Dear Church Family,
May you know the peace of God in this time of unknowing.
Jesus said to His disciples, “Let not your hearts be troubled, trust in God and also, trust in me.” John 14:1.
After much prayer, I believe God is calling our congregation to reach out like never before. Here is the vision God has given me.
1.
Be in prayer, seeking the leading of the Holy Spirit as to how God wants to use
you.
2.
Follow your spiritual heart as to where God may use you to care for others
who have needs.
3.
If you are a part of any group in our congregation, reach out to the other
members to care for one another’s needs. If you or your group cannot meet a
need, contact the Church by calling me at 419-469-0156.
4.
If you are a part of other groups outside the church, reach out in the same way
asking your group to pray for one another and meet each other’s needs. Again
if a need becomes too great for your group, contact the Church by calling me
at 419-469-0156.
5.
Reach out to your neighbors. If each of us will stay in contact with 3 or more of
our neighbors, needs will be met. Pray for these neighbors and ask them to
reach out to 3 or more others.
6.
Consider where you may be able to serve to meet the needs that are
discovered as we pray and reach out to one another with the love of God. i.e.
transportation, food, provision, pick up and deliver, financial help, child care,
etc. Call me at 419-469-0156 or email the church at
wumcoffice@watervilleumc.org if additional help is needed.
7.
If the Holy Spirit puts on your heart another way of serving our community, let
us know. Again, by calling me at 419-469-0156 or emailing the church at
wumcoffice@watervilleumc.org.
The key to this crisis is knowing God, seeking God and trusting God. Only through the presence of God in our lives will we find peace. This may be the moment in which God will use you to walk alongside of family, friends, co-workers and neighbors demonstrating the depths of God’s love and grace through your service to others.
Let us answer the call of God to serve in ways we would not have considered event 2 weeks ago.
Please remember, if anyone needs pastoral support, and this includes, family friends and the unchurched, I am available.
In knowing Jesus, our destiny is set and there is nothing in this world to fear. Remember the Joy of the Lord is our strength.
