A Note from Our Council President
To quote my friend, Tracy Knight, “I’ve got a lot going on.” School starts soon. Work is busy. For a church that is not meeting in person, there sure are a lot of things going on behind the scenes! On top of every day life happening, we are also required to face some of the hardest situations of our lives. Never before seen times, and we’re expected to navigate it with grace and a smile. I don’t think I’m smiling much anymore….
Let’s face it, we’re all spending wayyyy too much time on social media these days, so forgive me for always using it for inspiration, but I saw a post on Facebook that hit home for me. Wouldn’t it be so nice if instead of facing criticism and shame for making a decision, what if we began responding more like this?
How did it go while deciding what to do with your kids this school year? Was it an easy decision? Have you felt judged because of your decision?
Now, maybe you don’t have kids in school, but maybe you felt judged for some other activity you participated in? Going out to eat at a restaurant? Getting together with family and friends?
Maybe you’ve spent the last six months totally isolated in your house? In which case, your conversation could look like this.
Maybe we can all practice the above, not only for others, but for ourselves. These times are frustrating. These times are unknown. We try to make plans and they’re completely turned upside down. It feels like most days there is no good decision to make. What if we gave our friends and family a breather, but more importantly, let’s give OURSELVES a breather. There are no easy decisions these days. Take a minute and be proud of yourself too. You’ve made some tough decisions lately.
An easy decision for the Wings was to attend Rally Day this past Sunday. What a wonderful event! Familiar faces, communion, and a sweet treat all at an appropriately social distance! Thank you so very much to all the volunteers and our various committees that organized this. Council is looking forward to some focused Fall planning and more events like these. Stay tuned for updates on Fall Happenings coming up, and if you haven’t joined the St. Peter’s Facebook group, please do! It is so fun hearing from all of our different congregation members.
Have a fantastic weekend, and good luck to all of our kiddos, teachers, and family members as they embark on what is sure to be an interesting school year. Signing off, and praying a special prayer for all of our congregation members this week. I pray that you come to peace with decisions you need to make, big or small. I also pray that you never run out of Oreos.

BIBLE STUDY AT HOME
Faith is scripture is rarely a noun...but most often a verb...an active and alive thing. Faith is like muscles, requiring exercise to stay healthy and strong. While we are in Diaspora (separated...), use these short videos as a weekly way of growing in your faith and love.

What is the Trinity, and how does God exist as 3 separate entities. Here we have people explain some of the intricacies of how One Being can be Three separate Beings.

Hi, Everyone! There is a new group on Facebook called St. Peter's Marble Falls. This is a closed group by invitation only. During this crazy time, while we cannot interact with one another in the narthex before and after worship, it's a place to share some good news, some fun events, pictures, reminders, etc. .... Janette Clausen is the administrator so if you are on Facebook and have not been invited please contact Janette (janetteclausen@aol.com) for an invitation.
