Medical Education Day - Keynote Speaker


FAME is excited to welcome Joan Sargeant, PhD to provide the Keynote Address at the 13th Annual Medical Education Day on September 27, 2023. Dr. Sargeant is a Professor of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine in the Division of Medical Education at Dalhousie University. The 2023 Keynote Address topic will be feedback and coaching.


Dr. Sargeant helped develop feedback and coaching resources that are free to download on the Dalhousie University website. We will be sharing these resources each month leading up to Med Ed Day on September 27th.

Mastering Medical Teaching Course


The Stanford Faculty Development Center is excited to introduce “Mastering Medical Teaching,” an online teaching improvement course based on their previous in-person faculty development course. Developed in collaboration with Stanford Online and the Stanford Center for Health Education, this course provides an alternative to the traditional in-person presentations. Individuals or groups can enroll in the online course.

Chat GPT


ChatGPT is a new AI chatbot taking the digital world by storm. On February 16, IPHAM hosted a panel to discuss ChatGPT and the positive and negatives potentials of the new technology. The University of California - San Francisco hosted a Grand Rounds on the topic: "ChatGPT: Will It Transform the World of Health Care?". Twitter is also a buzz with ways to use ChatGPT as a positive resource - Mushtaq Bilal, PhD, a Postdoctoral Researcher at Syddansk Universitet created a thread post about using ChatGPT to create a first draft of scholarly work.
