Hi Friend,

February is full of hearts and reminders of love. As believers, we’re invited to bring our hearts to God honestly—not polished or sugar-coated. If you use the Spiritual Circle Journal, you know I encourage that kind of authenticity with God in the "Journal Entry" circle.

That invitation to honesty doesn’t stop when we close our journals—it extends to the way we speak to ourselves. This week, a friend shared something that stopped me in my tracks. She said that we talk to ourselves more than we talk to anyone else. That made me pause, because it means the words I speak inwardly are the ones I hear most often. She later encouraged us with Colossians 3:12.

Then the two things came together for me. We often apply this verse to how we hope to treat others—but what if it we applied this same wisdom to what we are saying to ourselves. After all, we are the ones "talking" to ourselves the most. I’m realizing I need to grow here. I’m practicing noticing my inner dialogue. Awareness feels like the first step. Do you struggle with this too?

Journaling Prompts: What do you say about yourself to yourself? Is it compassionate, kind, and gentle? What could help you become more aware of the way you speak to yourself? Do you believe you are chosen and dearly loved by God?

Two of my favorite spiritual directors—Joan Kelley and Gail Donahue—are leading a 24-hour Lenten retreat Feb 22-23rd for women at the Carmelite Spiritual Center in Darien, IL. I've attended their retreats and know they create a gentle, guided space to help us slow down and connect deeply with God.

If you’re longing for a quieter, more intentional Lenten experience, this retreat is a beautiful opportunity. Spiritual Direction appointments are often an option. Click the link below to learn more.

The "Heart of a Leader" 5 x 7 inch print is back in stock! This art came from revisiting the "Lessons Learned" circle in my old journals and noticing 25 areas God had been (and continues to be) working on in my heart. This is a great way to say thank you to the volunteers, committees, and leadership teams who quietly give so much.

It's perfect for desks, gift bags, or given with a handwritten note that says, your leadership matters more than you know. All you have to do is add a frame. Only $10 in the shop. Don't delay because quantities are limited.

I hope you enjoyed this "Little Lift. Please don't hesitate to hit reply if you have any questions or comments.

Until Next Time,
