2018 Community Impact
Clothes To Kids of Denver shoppers took home 10,024 school wardrobes in 2018. That's more than  206,500 pieces of clothing 93%  of kids left with a full 21-piece school wardrobe. Our shoppers also took home   24,432 pounds of "extras"  including school supplies, books, accessories and winter gear. Youth volunteers gave 1,737 hours, groups gave 2,358 hours and adults gave 6,243 hours, for a total of  10,338 volunteer hours .

We reached some big milestones in our 10th year, including giving away our 1,000,000th piece of clothing and our 50,000th wardrobe . The student pictured here, who selected 2018's 10,000th wardrobe on December 22, got royal treatment at our check-out counter!

Thank you to our donors and volunteers for making 2018 our best ever at Clothes To Kids!

Founders Award Winner - Kelly Root
Meet our newest recipient of the Clothes To Kids Founders Award, Kelly Root (center in photo). Joyce (at left), Lesa, Gail and Mary (at right) selected Kelly for this award in celebration of her many years of service to Clothes To Kids. Along with volunteering in our boutique and donation center nearly every week, Kelly has served multiple years as a board member and gala planning committee member.

She is the first to offer to help with any special favor we need and has donated storage space in her home, the use of her pick-up truck and signage from her company Magnify Signs. Her enthusiasm, energy and passion for our mission are infectious and it has been an honor to work with her these past 10 years. Congratulations, Kelly!
Stand-Out Service

Shire Pharmaceuticals held an ultra creative #Undie500 and #Sock600! Shire employees from around the country brought packages of new socks and underwear to their annual conference...a total of 3,787 pairs! Regional offices then competed in sock and underwear themed team-building games including “Assembly Line,” "Flying Blind" and "Nothing but Net."

Janus Henderson employees collected 135 beautiful bras for our young women in the last weeks of October. Since the drive coincided with Halloween, donors were encouraged to color special bra-themed ghosts…so cute! Special thanks to Missy Montag and Moira McNeil (both pictured here) for all of their hard work to make this very special #Undie500 a success.

The students, staff and parents at Kent Denver School held another successful clothing drive in November. The Sun Devils collected an impressive 221 bags of clothing, 145 pairs of shoes and 750+ pairs of new socks & underwear. Special thanks to Christina, Sue and Della for organizing the drive, and to the 30+ parent volunteers who spent many hours sorting and counting donations!

Our friends at Jeppesen for collected more than 600 items for our shoppers in December, including lots of new underwear and socks!

Early in December, long-time supporter  Betsy Abrams held her 16th annual benefit brunch supporting  Clothes To KidsJames Resource Network  and  Kenya's Kidz . Betsy's generous guests donated more than $1,620 in gift cards and checks, plus two SUV loads of clothing, shoes, new underwear and new socks. We love you Betsy!

Long-time Saturday volunteer Kai Sokso brought along his friend Marion Shelton (both pictured here) last month to install some new lockers where volunteers can safely stash their belongings while they are working in our shop. Thank you both for your skills and patience!

We are excited to welcome Timber Trail Elementary School to the CTKD Bin Program! Their shoe drive kicked off long before they received their bin and added 200 pairs of shoes to the store before Christmas. Then, the TTE community enthusiastically filled their bin within the first week of hosting it! We are so excited to partner with them and are grateful for their generosity.

Thanks to this amazing group from AmeriCorps Reading Partners Colorado for celebrating Martin Luther King Jr. Day by volunteering with us!

With all this cold and snow, we are feeling extra grateful to our friends at L.L. Bean in Park Meadows for their collection of 55 warm winter coats and 10 pairs of boots! #BeanOutsider
