Hi friend,

Last week, we gathered together for our Annual Meeting - an evening of reflection, gratitude, and real hope.

We looked back on forty-four years of work that began in the basement of St. Paul's Church, where a small group of people believed something radical: that domestic violence was a community responsibility, not a private family matter. What they built became the Jeanne Geiger Crisis Center. The organization they started has grown beyond that basement, but never beyond that original belief.

Last year alone, our local programs served 2,785 people across sixteen communities. Our prevention team is in schools across the region. Our intervention program is helping people who have caused harm choose a different path. And our national homicide prevention training has reached more than 400 jurisdictions across 48 states — helping communities identify danger earlier and save lives.

We also had a very special guest. Rachel Louise Snyder - journalist and bestselling author of No Visible Bruises: What We Don't Know About Domestic Violence Can Kill Us - joined us for the evening. 

Rachel’s book talks about the origins of our homicide prevention work, and changed how millions of people understand intimate partner violence.

None of what we described that evening exists without our community of supporters. Not a single call answered, not a single student reached, not a single community trained - every piece of this work is made possible by people who believe that every person deserves safety, dignity, and hope.
