Construction has Begun on our Peace School in Guinea

Pathways To Peace (PTP), along with our partners in Guinea (WAR AGAINST POVERTY), have begun constructing a new Peace School in Kindia, Guinea. The previous school and orphanage were demolished when a new road came through. The children, ages 6 to 14, were left without a school and home. Our partners were able to make temporary accommodations for the children while searching for a property and building that could house a new Peace School and orphanage. This half-constructed building seemed to be the solution, and they turned to us at PTP to finance the construction and develop the Peace curriculum. We weren’t sure we could make it happen but the call to action was strong and clear. And miracles happen!

Thanks to the generosity of a family who came together to answer the call!

A big thank you goes out to the Peterson Family in Minnesota for answering the call and making this miracle happen for the children in Guinea!

When complete, this larger building will allow us to consolidate our programs in Guinea. There is room for the Peace School and orphanage, the Girls Shelter, and the Hubcast Media Center. We hope to establish a Technical Institute for Girls sometime in the future.

All these programs work together to end these violent practices in

One Generation and Bring Peace to this Community!

Do you feel called to contribute? You can do so here: (Donate Button). Please designate “The Peace School in Guinea.” Thank you in advance for your generous support—it means everything to us and to the children in Guinea!

PTP is celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the First Peace Day Celebration in San Francisco, California—and the World is Invited!

Please Join Us!

40 years ago, people around the world came together in San Francisco, the birthplace of the United Nations, to celebrate the passage of the United Nations resolution establishing the International Day of Peace (Peace Day). People in that gathering were inspired to see Peace, know Peace, and bring Peace into their lives.

Established in 1981 by unanimous United Nations resolution 36/37, the General Assembly declared this day to be devoted to “commemorating and strengthening the ideals of peace both within and among all nations and peoples.

That global celebration in 1984 created a wave that became a global movement. Peace Day is now celebrated by an estimated 3 billion people worldwide.

40 Years later, on Peace Day, September 21st, 2024, the world is coming together again, and you are invited to join us! As it was in 1984, the Peace Celebration will be held outdoors on the Civic Center Plaza from 11:00 a.m. PT to 3:00 p.m. PT. The outdoor stage will feature local and international performers, all celebrating and honoring Peace. Pathways To Peace was the primary organizer 40 years ago and is once again this year.

Out-of-state and global club members can join the livestreamed celebration, and we look forward to welcoming those who can join us live!

We are looking for support and volunteers, so if you are inspired to join the movement, you can learn more here:
