CELEBRATING CONNECTION

As we say goodbye to summer, we reflect on the life and love July brought to the Long Beach Ronald McDonald House. Every guest room was full, the backyard rang with children's laughter, and families found comfort in the connections they made. These moments remind us of what makes the House so special; it is a vibrant community built on care and compassion.

To everyone who has stayed with us, supported us, or given their time as a volunteer; thank you. You make it possible for families to find strength during their most challenging times. As the new school year begins, we wish continued health, resilience, and hope to all our families.

BLUE SHIELD OF CALIFORNIA: BRINGING SUMMER SMILES

Thank you to Blue Shield of California for their continued support of the Long Beach Ronald McDonald House (LBRMH)! Their incredible team of volunteers brought the joy of summer to the families with a backyard-inspired meal complete with burgers, hot dogs, watermelon, and chocolate chip cookies. To make the day even more special, the team spent time making friendship bracelets with our guests, creating both fun and lasting memories. Blue Shield of California has been a consistent supporter of our mission, and we are thankful for their commitment to providing comfort, care, and moments of joy for the families who call the House a home-away-from-home.

WELCOMING OUR NEW BOARD MEMBERS

The LBRMH is proud to welcome three exceptional leaders to its Board of Trustees, each bringing a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to our mission. Jeremy Harris, President and CEO of the Long Beach Chamber of Commerce, returns to the House with a longstanding history of support, including his early involvement with the Red Shoe Society, our young professionals group. His leadership and dedication to the Long Beach community make him a powerful advocate for the families we serve.

Joining him is Dr. Bryna Kane, a retired dermatologist and senior founding partner at Laser Skin Care Center, whose compassionate work and past recognition as an honoree at our 10th Annual A Few Good Men & Women Gala reflect her unwavering dedication to transforming lives.

The final new member is Irene Lay-Lui of TABC Toyota, whose expertise in corporate leadership and community engagement brings valuable insight and energy to our board. Together, these three leaders embody the spirit of service and collaboration that drives our mission forward.

CELEBRATING THE FINAL TASTE AND TOUR OF 2025

The LBRMH hosted its final Taste and Tour of the year, welcoming guests for an evening of connection and community. Through a guided tour, attendees witnessed the mission in action and gained a deeper understanding of the impact the House has on families.

That same evening, volunteers from law firm Kelly, Trotter & Franzen prepared a comforting dinner for our families, a wonderful reminder of the generosity within our community. Adding to the joy, Pet Prescription Team therapy dogs brought smiles to children and guests alike. A memorable finishing touch to the evening was a curated tasting of Piazza Family Wines, generously shared by Board Member Ron Piazza.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who joined us and look forward to welcoming new guests at future events in the year ahead.

Join us for the 11th Annual A Few Good Men and Women Gala on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at the Hyatt Regency Long Beach. Led by Honorary Chairs, Julie and Don Knabe, the evening will benefit the LBRMH with a celebration of community leaders, a fashion show, and exclusive Honoree-designed auction experiences.
