A Message from Leadership

Over the past few months, our House has been home to a remarkable family whose journey has touched us all. In March, they arrived with hope and uncertainty—caring for a fragile baby born just over one pound. Yesterday, they left with a healthy 9-pound baby and hearts full of gratitude. Their nine-year-old became a beacon of kindness, making every child at the House feel welcome and seen. Moments like these remind us that your support reaches far beyond what the eye can see. The ripple effects of your generosity bring comfort, healing, and hope to families who need it most.

You Made This Possible: 2024 Annual Report

Take a moment to see the impact YOU made in our 2024 Annual Report. Thanks to your generosity, families found comfort, hope, and healing when they needed it most. Your support is at the heart of everything we do at the LBRMH. Thank you for being a vital part of our mission!

Taco Beach: Serving Flavor and Heart Since 2012

Taco Beach, a beloved staple in the Los Altos neighborhood of Long Beach is celebrated not only for its bold, flavorful Mexican cuisine but also for its deep-rooted commitment to the community it serves. Under the leadership of owner Kevan Vance, whose philanthropic spirit has shaped the restaurant from the beginning, Taco Beach has been a consistent supporter of local nonprofits, generously providing meals to those in need. Since 2012, they’ve proudly partnered with the LBRMH, delivering comforting meals to families during some of their most difficult moments.

Their enchiladas, served with beans, rice, and their signature salsa have quickly become a favorite among the families. Kevin’s ongoing generosity represents more than just kindness, it reflects the spirit of giving that defines both the Long Beach community and Taco Beach’s mission to uplift others. In doing so, the restaurant stands as a shining example of how small businesses can create lasting impact.

Join us for the 11th Annual A Few Good Men and Women Gala on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at the Hyatt Regency Long Beach. Led by Honorary Chairs Julie and Don Knabe, the evening will benefit the LBRMH with a celebration of community leaders, a fashion show, and exclusive Honoree-designed auction experiences.

Continuing Her Mission of Care

Loretta Margaret Frye lived a life rooted in faith, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to service. Over the years, she opened her heart and home to more than 100 foster children and adopted a son of her own—offering love, safety, and opportunity to those who needed it most.

Her generosity extended far beyond her family. A devoted supporter of organizations such as St. Jude and the Special Olympics, Loretta continues to uplift others through a generous planned gift to the LBRMH.

With this gift, she joins The Fred and Fran Hill Legacy Society, a distinguished group of individuals who have chosen to leave a lasting imprint on our mission. Their support ensures that families confronting unimaginable challenges can find comfort, care, and stability—regardless of their financial circumstances.

Loretta’s legacy is a powerful reminder that a life guided by purpose and compassion can leave an enduring impact on generations to come.
